[DEMUG] HD replacement

I have purchased a replacement HD (bigger) for an old G3 macbook. I  
have installed Leopard and am running the new time capsule backup.  
Anything special I need to backup or beware of before replacing the  
HD? and should I undertake it myself or have a more experienced  
technician handle it?
