Filemaker is the easy part of this. What formats does Act export?

Filemaker can open:
tab separated text
comma separated text.
SYLK files
DIF files
WKS files
BASIC files, MErge
Excel files
dbase files
XML Data Source and
OBDC data source

Depending on how well it does an export (some programs have a
difficult time keeping tabs in an export), it is often handy to pick
up the data with Excel - manipulate it there to make sure the same
kind of information is contained in each column, then do the import
into Filemaker.

I have created a huge Filemaker database (10000+ records) from an Act
export, but It's been a few years, and I'm a little fuzzy on the
particulars. I remember there were some challenges. But it certainly
can be done.
