Just for the record, Smalldog Electronics, a very popular mac reseller  
in VT has macbook batteries for $129

Also, for the record my MacBook Pro battery got to the point where it  
would make the machine go completely dark (off) at around 20 % with no  
warning. Replacing it fixed the problem completely
