First the official answer from Apple:

http://www.apple.com/support/powerbook/care/

Cleaning Your PowerBook
Follow these general rules when cleaning the outside of your computer
and its components:

     * Shut down your PowerBook and remove the battery.
     * Use a damp, soft, lint-free cloth to clean the computer’s
exterior. Avoid getting moisture in any openings. Do not spray liquid
directly on the computer.
     * Don’t use aerosol sprays, solvents, or abrasives.

Cleaning Your PowerBook Display
To clean your PowerBook screen, do the following:

     * Shut down your PowerBook and remove the battery.
     * Dampen a clean, soft, lint-free cloth or paper with water only
and wipe the screen. Do not spray liquid directly on the screen.

Next Answer - In my office at the Jackson Laboratory we have a bottle
of iKlear and some wipes:

KLEARSCREEN iKlear Apple Polish Kit

And finally, based on personal experience from a brilliant move on my
part about 5 years ago I can speak first hand that using windex is NOT
a good idea and whatever you use, spray it on a cloth first and then
apply to the screen. Spraying windex on directly so it drips down into
the display base and shorts out the display backlight is NOT a good
thing to do (though since there was no evidence of this Applecare
fixed it..don't tell on me! :) )
