Wish I could help. My 10.4 (bought a couple of years ago) is also on  
DVD.

Do you know someone with a laptop that will read DVDs and who can  
come over and connect to you in Target Disk Mode?  http://

That way you could read the DVD on their laptop but install the  
system on your machine.
