Yes! I would like to attend a meeting in Ellsworth! Not going to Brunswick, that's a 4 hour round trip!

If Pete and his group could facilitate it on his end, it would be a great way to demonstrate computer technology locally, and likely get a lot more participation, verses trucking all the way to Brunswick. If that is no longer the case, could you please forward this to the current officeholder.> My name is Pete Zimowski and I am the current President of MMOOS (Maine Macintosh Owners & Operators Society), an Apple User Group in Brunswick. I write the "MacMaineiac" articles and columns in the 'Technology" section of the Friday Times Record (macmaineiac.com). I have a proposition for you.> As you surely know, Mac OS 10.5 "Leopard" is due to be released this month (as well as some other rumored hardware updates as well). Undoubtedly, Apple User Groups all over the country will be doing demos of Leopard in November.> Here's my idea: why don't we organize a "joint" User Group meeting in November in a "large" venue and get all the Maine User Groups together for a mass demo? We would get good speakers from every group, and divvy up the Leopard features among them. Possibly chip in and give away a few copies of Leopard, and any other goodies we could get from Apple. We would certainly advertise outside group memberships as well, including my writing in the Times Record and other local rags around the area.> I'm thinking about Tuesday, the 13th of November. Just after Veteran's Day weekend, far enough away from Thanksgiving.> Depending on the interest (I am contacting the other MUGs as well), perhaps we could use the Brunswick High School auditorium. I know that sounds big but MMOOS will probably have 50 people there by itself. Other suggestions for venues would be appreciated.> Again, I am sending a similar email to representatives of the other MUGs.> Please let me know what you think.> Pete Zimowski> _______________________________________________> DEMUG mailing list> DEMUG at lists.demug.org> http://lists.demug.org/mailman/listinfo/demug_lists.demug.org
