Thank you so much. I just got back some photos that I thought
were gone forever. I had imported them into Aperture and then somehow
dumped them, so that all I had were the previews and I could do
nothing with them.

total the capacity of the card. Even if you reformatted recently and
had only five NEW files on the card.
Most times the reformatting does not actually destroy existing files,
it merely tells your camera to ignore/write over them. So, for
example, I have the capacity to write 77 raw files on a 1GB card. If
I shoot only 22 and then use the file recovery software it will
recover the 22 images I just shot plus the 55 images from the last
job that I have not yet written over.
