[DEMUG] jumping thru Apple's hoops for warranty repair

I keep all my boxes because they add to the resale
value of the product in a big way.
But when I send things to Apple, I am happy to have them
send me a box with postage paid. Apple Care is expensive,
considering that I hardly ever use it, it's nice to get
something for those bucks.
I can understand your annoyance because of wanting to get it done
while you are gone, but, on their side, it does say in their Repair
Terms and Conditions:

Service Options. Apple may facilitate service through one or more of
the following options:
(i) Direct mail-in service. If Apple determines that your product is
eligible for mail-in service, Apple will advise of shipping
instructions including packaging requirements (which will be provided
by Apple where the product is under warranty). You will then be
required to ship the product to Apple's repair service location in
accordance with Apple's instructions. Once service is complete, the
Apple repair service location will return the repaired product or
provide a replacement product to you. Apple will pay for shipping to
and from your location if all instructions are followed.

You measn that HUMUNGOUS BOX taking up space in my loft is unneeded? I
have a 24 inch intel duo G4. I can barely lift the empty box! When It
arrived I had to slide it along the floor into the room where it now
sits! That determined that the I Book stayed in the upstairs studio!
Forewarned is forearmed! Thanks!
