[DEMUG] Looking for a laptop, and large downloads

Thanks to everyone who replied with laptop offers. I think I have got
my friend almost talked into getting a refurb MacBook Pro from Apple
(thanks, Susan, for reminding me of that option).

Now, a couple of questions...
I tried downloading the 30 day iWork trial from Apple, which is a 400
+ MB download. It stalled out on me at 217 MB, and my connection got
r-e-a-l-l-y s-l-o-w. During a chat with Hughes.net''s overseas tech
department, I learned that I'd exceeded the Fair Use limits of my
contract. Apparently it's 200 MB download a day. Choking off my
service for 24 hrs. was the "punishment" for this violation.
Even the upgraded contracts top out at 425 MB a day, which still
wouldn't be enough for this particular download. When I pressed the
tech on this, he noted that I could download unlimited MB between 3
am and 6 am EST.
So, my questions- is it possible to schedule a download so that it
would come in then? Or do I have to set my alarm clock (ugh)?
Alternatively, if I use a different network (say, the Maine Grind's
or the library's), do I risk screwing up their network for 24 hrs.?
Is this limit common, or is it related to the satellite service?
Bethany
