[DEMUG] Migration help

I'm frustrated.
I used Migration Assistant on my new MacBook Pro 15.4" to bring data  
over from the old iBook G3. Yet no matter what I try I can't seem to  
get old mailboxes and mail into the MBP's Mail. Ditto for Address  
Book. All the info seems to have come over as I have a file on the  
MBP with the old info in it. But using "Import" from the programs or  
old-fashioned drag and drop don't work.
Ideas?
